So I’ll start this off with the fact that I am freakin’ tired today. So tired in fact that I overslept and did not get up until 6am, which sucks because that’s when I’m supposed to be at work. I have not been getting enough sleep recently, not by any stretch of the word. I think the last 4 nights I have averaged maybe 3 hours a night. This isn’t enough even by my standards! (For the record, I run on about 5-6 hours a sleep a night due to mostly staying up with the wife, then having to get up at 4:30am for work.) Needless to say I may be taking a nap in my car on my lunch break today.
Another reason why I am so freakin’ tired today is that the wife and I have discovered couponing. All because she was up late drinking a glass of wine while watching “EXTREME COUPONING!” (which should be sponsored by Mountain Dew like all EXTREME sports). Because of this one night we now have a dinning room table filled with coupons, an entire book organized with coupons and a bunch of new stuff we normally would not have bought, but did because it was super cheap or damn near free.
Last night we went to Alberton’s at about 11pm to use some coupons and see how much we could save since Tuesday is the last day they accept double coupons. Well let me tell you, it was awesome. I never thought I would get so happy about coupons! They are right, it’s like free money! Here’s a list of what we got and what we paid! I’m sharing because this is awesome!
- 3 bottles of Kikoman Soy Sauce – FREE!
- 3 bottles of Kikoman Teriyaki sauce – FREE!
- 30 bottles of FUZE fruit drink – $.50 each
- 2 12 packs of pepsi – $3 each
- 3 boxes of Nabisco 100 caloriecookies – $.47 each!
- 2 boxes panty liners – FREE!
- 4 boxes of pasta – $.55 each!
- 6 1.25 pound packages of ground turkey – $2.49 each!
- 4 4-packs of Starbucks frapachinos – 3.99 each
- 2 propel fitness waters – FREE!
- 6 pack snapple peach – 2.99!
Some other stuff too. In total we spend $78 and got over $300 in groceries! Not quite as good as the TV Show but still pretty damned good for us! I forgot to take a picture of this awesomeness, but I promise you I will next time. We are hitting up Wal-Mart where we plan to get a bunch more free shit through coupons here tonight!
We also made a friend in line, a fellow couponer. One who has been at it for a long time. She was pretty cool, and super excited to see another couponer. So much so that she gave Kaylie her number, email and Facebook so she can help us learn the finer techniques of couponing to get free shit. She was telling us about her $1,200 coupon trip and how awesome it was. That $1,200 was what she saved on the trip. And that is nuts.
Seriously readers of my blog, if you don’t coupon and you are not made of money you might want to look into it.
I know I said “something else of importance” in the title, but I got nothing.
Have a nice day.
