So I have some interesting news for you. I’m not sure what this means, but it was pretty funny and flattering. On Saturday I was pressure washing out outside stairs and cement wall the leads down to out basement dwelling. My wonderful wife was sitting in our new recliner watching TV because she is you know, 9 months pregnant and ready to be done. She comes outside and tells me I have a phone call, naturally I ask her who it is. She asks and all she catches was that it was a guy and his name was Micheal. So I grab the phone. Hold on, this requires a new paragraph.
This man named Michael proceeds to tell me that he had found my website (not sure which one) and that he is a casting director for an indie film that is being shot up in Vancouver and he wants me to go an audition for the part. He told me he read through some of my stuff (making me assume he found jhorsley3.com) and read through my about me. I fit his age and height requirement for this part and my personality was a match for the character he was casting. Interesting I thought.
I would like to point out that there is NOTHING on my website that even STATS I have ever been interested in acting, or that I want to pursue a career in acting. I wouldn’t mind doing voice overs for a cartoon, but that’s about it.
He wanted me to come audition for the part this weekend. I politely told him no. Why did I tell him no? Well folks, that’s because of a few reasons. My wife being pregnant and ready to drop is one. I don’t want to be off at an audition, or god forbid I get the part and have to go somewhere for 3 months for the filming. There is also the reason that I know NOTHING about acting, I tend to get nervous and talk REALLY fast when I don’t know what I’m doing and I get scared shitless having to talk on a stage in front of people. Yes I used to play tons of shows when I was in a band, but that was different. I was just playing the bass or drums and didn’t have to talk.
To end this story since it is coming to a closure, I thanked him for the call and told him that regrettably I had to decline at this time. Besides, I had this distinct feeling the movie was one of those ‘Bear’ movies (look it up).
I brought home one of my better computers that JKLM Comics has been using. I installed a second hard drive in it and now it houses 400GB of space. I am looking for a good program to rip my DVD movies to DIVx files. I could rip them as complete DVD’s with menus and special features, but I don’t want to take up that musch space. So does anyone have any suggestions for a good DVD-DIVx ripper?
